I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
I was really interested in trying Cascade Platinum because I'm always up to try out new products on the market to see how they preform. I was even more excited when I was given the opportunity to try them and they came right as I was getting sick. I had a cold that turned into bronchitis and I'm going through week three right now and am finally back to work, blogging, and living life! I still have the cough, but it isn't as bad. Now while I was sick I was stuck home for a week and half pretty useless and with little to no energy. I was worried about the house going to pot while I was sick, especially the kitchen and dishes. I mean come on, look at how they load this thing!
The kids do have regular chores of helping with dishes, and various other cleaning tasks however they are kids so if the opportunity arises that they can cheat or do something only half way they sure will. Hubby also helps with a lot, but here's the real kicker...both he and Lady Bug got sick too. The healthiest person in the household was Lego Boy who was the one that spread it to all of us and has been over it for a week or two himself.
Now they weren't as sick or sick as long so they did what they could as they felt up to it. Also I tried to get up and do things every so often as I felt I had little bursts of energy. A lot of the time we wash things by hand because we don't usually have enough to fill it up. We mostly use it when we have company over or make big meals that take lots of dishes. However with everyone being sick we felt that EVERYTHING must go through the dishwasher to make sure it was sanitized as well. I decided this was the best time to put these to the test since none of us wanted to be standing at the sink pre-washing anything longer than we had to.
I'd have to say after using them for a couple of weeks I'm impressed. I thought this was going to be another gimmick that they tell you everything will be fab but then you use and it are all like WTH? This isn't what I expected! Every load that we did came out clean, grease free with little to no spots! I did occasionally see a few small dried water spots, but way less than with any other detergent or rinse add in that we have used. It was more on reusable/disposable plastic containers than on the glasses so maybe the cheap plastic had more to do with it?
Though we have always used liquid detergent in the machine I think we might just keep buying these because they work well and are very easy for the kids to use and make sure they are using the right amount. They are pods that have enzyme power that cleans off stuck on food helping you to finish your chores quicker since you don't have to pre-rinse or pre-wash your dishes before loading them into the dishwasher.
Check out my plate, completely white and grease free thanks to the added grease fighting power of Dawn. These pods also give your glasses a residue free and spotless finish and are formulated to work to protect against calcium and hard water build up that can frost your glasses. They are also supposed to help clean your machine and keep it looking just as good as your dishes. At this point I'm not really sure about that because our machine is pretty new and has yet to really have a chance to start looking dirty. Hopefully this part works and by us continuing to use them the machine will stay looking new for a long time to come! For more information check out the Cascade website or follow them on Facebook.
