The Fabulous Mind of a Wacky Mama Bear!: Starlooks December '12

Yupp, I suck...I really do. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to try and deny. I'm sooo far behind on posting about the December Starlooks Starbox! It came this month in a pretty red and gold box, I like how they change their boxes up with different colors and patterns every month. My kids do too! They love to find ways to re-purpose the boxes I get! They advertised for months that the December box would be a $99 value and they didn't lie. It was one of the brightly colored palettes they sell on their site: i107A.

Look at these colors. They are just beautiful and very vivid. Many people got upset for multiple reasons one of which thinking that this palette was too bright and that they couldn't use any of the colors. I have been using this palette regularly this month, unfortunately I didn't get any really good pictures of me wearing the colors but I assure you that I found many ways to either tone the colors down or use them for a slight fun punch of color in a neutral look. Also some of the lighter colors are great and don't need to be toned down.

Now what it didn't include this month? My quartz crystal! Yupp I really like that they put those in, but oh well. Hopefully it's just the one month because it is a really cute gimmick! Another thing that made people upset which I again find completely ridiculous is that the website says 3-4 items worth $35 or more. We pay $15 plus $1.98 shipping and handling for each monthly box. People being children instead of seeing this as one expensive item or 15 colors saw it as them getting a box with only one item. They were outraged and took to Starlooks Facebook page bashing them and demanding refunds. Seriously folks, it is worth $99 on their website! Children...totally not cool! I think people were being silly and that there was nothing wrong with this months box. I absolutely voiced my opinion all over their Facebook page and even had a lady attack me personally because she was angry. She later removed her comments from posts I had been offering advice on that she decided to join the convo and be nasty just because she could. I will continue my subscription with them because I have always been happy with what I have received over the last few months.
